Sweet words from my 4 yr old..

This morning was a little rough, some days we have happy, smooth, lovely mornings.... other mornings well lets just say other mornings can evoke sweet words from my 4 yr old daughter.

Me:  "Please pick up all your clothes. Right. Now"
Chicken:  " Fine."  as she walks away stomping her feet.
Me:  "Great, now lets hurry and get in the car"
--Once all packed in the car, and in her car seat, a little moment of silence and then:
Chicken:  " I want a cute Mommy not a mean one"
Me:  "Ok fine, when you get home from school there will be a different Mommy here for you, and you won't have to see me anymore"
Chicken:  "Ok, and when I'm ready for you to come back I'll just call you on your phone."
Me:   "Nope once I'm gone, I'm gone."
Chicken:  "fine."

silence
silence
silence
silence

Chicken:  "wwwwwaaaaaaaaaah, no mommy, no, I don't want you to go, wwaaaahhhhh"

Okay so maybe this may not have been a great strategy but really how can a 4 yr old just say these things??!!

AAAAAHHHH!!  I can't wait until her pre-teen, teen, and young adult years.... no really, it is going to be so freaking fun :/

Don't worry I ended the car ride with a full on after school special conversation, about how to respect one another, how not to say mean things to people you love, how to listen to your parents when they are talking to you, and wrapped it up with a big ole hug and kiss, and an "I love you."

And off she went happily to school, I even got a second hug and a "Bye Mom" with a sweet smile and wave half way down her hallway.

This little lady is going to be a handfull, but I love her spunk !

Saturday night Galveston fun!

On Saturday evening more friends joined us, as Hippo cooked a delicious meal, and then we had drinks and cupcakes on the porch. The cupcakes were strawberry with strawberry filling and cream cheese frosting, so so good! If you are in Houston check out Little shop of treats, I swear I am a chocolate only person but these changed my mind! Followed by a couple crazy cab rides, dancing, shots, hot dogs, jack in the box, and finally sleep.

What a great weekend, I love weekend get aways with close friends <3

Galveston for 30th...

We spent the weekend in a amazing 1800's Victorian home. I will have to go back one day and snap pics of the house it was so lovely. We were there celebrating Dulces' 30th birthday. Friday night we hung out at the house, made lychee drinks and then headed to the strand, where we  made at a stop at a drag show and a couple other bars and somehow managed to yoga flash mob one of the bars we were dancing at. A yoga flash mob of 2 people, oh the fun! Thankfully there are no pictures of said activity!

I'm not sure why but I have 30 photos of these chips, apparently we were very excited about chips, cheese and cookies!

Porch time!

Hanging out on the upstairs balcony!

"I just want to dance!"

Inspiring Sunday morning..

On Sunday morning, a friend and I woke up early to go cheer on our dear friends that ran the Houston half marathon. It was so motivating seeing all the different types of people, all ages, running towards the finish line. There were kids that looked like they were between 10 -13 yrs old running along side their parents, couples holding hands towards the end,a spinal cord injury patient walking it with help from loved ones. It truly was an inspiring morning, and I was so, so proud of my friend as she trained her butt off and made it to the end with better time than she expected!

I saw loads of clothes (hoodies, sweaters, long sleeves)  thrown over the rails, and was told that since it is cold in the morning and by run time it gets warmer the runners just leave the clothes hanging around.  I think the clothes is collected at clean up time and donated to the homeless, that is such a neat idea!

Joel & Rita ran for CanCare, an organization which certainly touched my heart when I heard of it, as the ugly disease has hit to close to home on too many occasions.
